VELOURDance Rooms
Four dancers holding a sharp jazz position on parquet with the velvet drapes open behind them

Monday to Saturday

Twelve classes. Eight places in each.

This is the whole schedule — there is no second timetable, no beginners' annexe and no hidden advanced group. What you see below is every hour of dancing that happens in this room.

The dots under each class are live. They fill as places are taken and the class closes at eight. If a class is closed this week it will open again next week; we do not run a waiting list and never have.

Each dot is one place. Filled dots are taken.

10 of 12 classes still have places this week

Week 36 · Capacity 8

Monday

Mon · 18:30

90 min · with Anneke Vogt

Contemporary · Open level

The week opens low and slow: weight through the feet, one long phrase built over ninety minutes, no mirror until the last ten.

3 places left

Mon · 20:15

75 min · with Tomás Ferreira

Heels · Foundation

Heels from the ankle up. Balance, walking, transfer of weight — the technical groundwork under the style, taught without a single glamour cliché.

5 places left

Tuesday

Tue · 18:00

90 min · with Ruth Landauer

Jazz · Technique

Isolations, pirouettes and the long diagonal. Ruth teaches jazz as craft: clean lines first, attitude afterwards.

3 places left

Tue · 20:00

75 min · with Anneke Vogt

Contemporary · Floorwork

Seventy-five minutes on the parquet itself — spirals, slides and the physics of getting up again without noise.

Closed at eight

Closed for this week

All eight places are taken. There is nothing to join, nothing to sit on and nobody to chase — come back on Sunday when the week resets, or take one of the classes that still has dots free.

Wednesday

Wed · 19:00

90 min · with Tomás Ferreira

Heels · Advanced

Fast material, full-length combinations, and enough repetitions that the choreography stops being counted and starts being danced.

Thursday

Thu · 18:30

90 min · with Ruth Landauer

Jazz · Repertoire

One piece of set repertoire per month, learned properly. You leave in April with something you can actually perform.

5 places left

Thu · 20:30

60 min · with Anneke Vogt

Contemporary · Slow

An hour at half speed. Release work, breath and the kind of listening that only fits in a room of eight.

3 places left

Friday

Fri · 18:30

90 min · with Tomás Ferreira

Heels · Open level

Friday evening, drapes drawn, one long combination taught from the floor up. Bring block heels or bare feet — both work here.

Fri · 20:30

75 min · with Ruth Landauer

Jazz · Open level

Seventy-five minutes of swing, syncopation and the good kind of tired. The most forgiving class on the schedule.

7 places left

Saturday

Sat · 10:00

120 min · with Anneke Vogt

Contemporary · Long form

Two hours with a break in the middle. Anneke builds a full phrase and then takes it apart again, which is where the learning lives.

For adults who have never had a dance class or have not had one since school. Nobody watches from the side; there is no side.

Sat · 15:00

90 min · with Tomás Ferreira

Heels · Lab

An open laboratory: Tomás brings unfinished material and the eight of you find out whether it works. Sometimes it does not.

3 places left

Members can bring one guest to any class with a free dot for €38. Guests are counted in the eight, like everybody else.

What to bring

  • Bare feet or socks for contemporary; block heels or trainers for heels.
  • Clothes you can bend in. There is no dress code and nobody performs.
  • A bottle. There is a tap and a kettle, and that is the extent of the refreshments.
  • Ten minutes of margin. Classes start at the minute stated and the door stays shut.
